What's the difference between a few words opted in or out of a sentence?  A whole world of difference actually.  Why do you think in the courtroom they ask you to tell "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"  Because a little word like "no" or "not" can change what you mean.

I like cooking classes.  Sometimes I teach and sometimes other friends teach.  I went to a Cuban cooking class taught by a friend.  This was a first for trying Cuban food:  All very good, I might add.  Cooking seems to be an in thing to do lately.  Evidently they even have a restaurant where you help the chefs prepare your own dinner.  Whereas I like the idea, it depends on the experience.  I remember this one restaurant that had a similar theme but it took three hours to cook your dinner and by that time you were just frustrated because it took so long to prepare your food.  Know what I mean?  You want to eat when you're hungry.

So what is the most attractive trait in a woman for a man?  Independence...  Turns out that men love independent women because they are not needy.  Neediness is a turnoff.  I agree that this goes both ways.  There is nothing like chasing someone else off by being too needy because you start to feel suffocated around them.  People like being with people who are interesting and chasing their own dreams:  Not people who cling to you like Velcro.  You know what I'm talking about.

Admit it...  it doesn't matter if you still like him as a friend or you simply can't stand him at all.  It's still hard to break up with someone due to our natural inclination to be nice.  It's difficult to hurt someone's feelings.  However on the other hand you risk living a lie for the rest of your life.

I remember breaking up with someone after a few weeks of dating.  He asked me to marry him which I thought was odd given the short time we'd been dating.  I asked him why he wanted to get married since he didn't seem like the faithful type and he replied that he was lonely.  I'm sorry but seriously!?!  At any rate, when I finally broke up with him he told me that if neither of us was married in five years we should just marry each other.  Talk about desperate for all the wrong reasons.  I simply lost all respect for this one especially since he was a liar, a cheater, and a thief.  Talk about delusional!

Destiny Moment

When You Know

I recently met a couple that told me how they met.  The Moroccan woman called it a destiny moment.  Why?  Because she was working in Dubai and met her American husband through a mutual friend.  Like what were the chances?  And now they live happily ever after.

Someone else I know also had her destiny moment.  She went out of state to help dog sit for her best friend and ended up chasing after the dog who just happened to stop before a man sitting on the bench.  She sat down and asked the man a leading question and now they are going to be married later this year.

So I guess this year I am waiting for my destiny moment...  Hmmm...  Although I think sometimes you can lose a destiny moment as well.  Two ships sailing and they just happen to miss each other.  Oh well...  another one may be right around the corner.  We shall see...

What usually happens when the weather gets colder?  We all get sick with colds.  I know especially because I got hit with the three week variety recently.  It begins with a sore throat for about a week then goes into the cough and congestion phase ending with a bit of stuffiness.  A number of my friends have been hit by this one as well.  They say you can only catch a particular type of cold once but since there are so many types you will still keep getting them.  Aw shucks!

In our world of selfies and self-love it seems out esteem is bordering on narcissism these days.  Sometimes you go and talk to someone and sometimes you go pop a pill.  However the best way to get rid of depression is actually to stop focusing on yourself and start helping others.  The more you help others out the more happier you will become.  So go forth and help others because in helping others you will help yourself.

Is found inside of you.  It's about being comfortable in your own skin and liking yourself for who you are.  It's about being valued for being the person that God made you to be.  Everyone was born with a conscience you hope.  Some lose this moral compass along the way and get involved in a lot of activities that they later regret.  Living with regret is hard.  Doing the right thing will always give you a clear conscience.  Sometimes the things you do become public knowledge.  Sometimes people will never find out.  But God knows, doesn't he?  He knows.  And you know.  And ultimately you have to live with yourself.

A State of Mind

Every so often you hear someone say they are bored.  If you say this often then you need to start doing things because believe me if you are living your life then you should not be bored. 

I would welcome a day where I could be bored because rarely do I come across a boring day.  And I have friends that would totally agree.  We are simply too busy to be bored.  In fact, I would love a day where I could just spend the whole day at home.  Please let me be bored!  LOL!

Education...

Is Not a Sign of Intelligence!

The reason I say this is that there are a lot of successful people in the world that have never graduated from college.  Why?  Either they had learning issues like dyslexia or didn't have the money to pay for college.  However being intelligent is definitely a good thing especially having emotional intelligence.  Another good thing to have is just plain old-fashioned common sense which some MBA's don't even have.

Delegates Well!

Are you a good leader?  If you are a good leader then you know how to delegate well.  A micromanager is not the kind of leader you want.  Plus if your leader knows him/herself well than he/she will know what their limitations are and delegate the right person for the job.  However even good leaders sometimes pick the wrong people.  But they also pick the right people too.  It's all a matter of trial and error.
