A sip of lemonade, please!

What do you do when life hands you lemons?

You make lemonade!  That's what a number of advertising professionals did when they realized their were being let go from their company. This movie is about the journey that each of these people went through in letting go and getting on with their lives.  Most ended up happier and more content.  And some even more successful!  So don't go wallowing in lemons, make lemonade!

An Interesting Day!

Ever have one of those?

I spent a day recently taking pictures for a production company.  They were working on a new musical and I got to meet many talented actors, actresses and production crew members.  It's an interesting day to watch what all goes into a production and listening to lines being rehearsed.  I took pictures as they were shooting as well as candid shots at ease.

Mini-Marathons!

Of the English Variety!

Ever do a movie marathon where you watch a days worth of TV in one sitting?  My sister and I have done this for the Downton Abbey series.  We get together once in a blue moon and watch an entire season.  We have watched seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 thus far and are eagerly awaiting season 5.  This is not something you can do often and there are weeks that go by where I don't even watch any TV but once in a while you do feel like catching up on your favorite series.

Life...

On the Run!

Well, it's that time again!  Friday!  Which is a good thing unless you're working and bogged down with summer classes and are going through finals week soon!  However the weather is nice and not humid lately so...  Enjoy your weekend!  Have some fun in the sun if you can!  :)

Tall Stacks

Anchors Away!

Do you like boats?  Especially riverboats?  Then this might be the year to travel to Cincinnati and check out the Tall Stacks.  This is a rare event and is the largest gathering of riverboats in one place right along the Ohio River.  One is tentatively scheduled for this year depending on corporate sponsors.  This is a great family event to go and listen to music and watch live reenactments.

Flower Bandit

Hmmm...

So if a person likes flowers so much, what's to keep him or her from buying seeds and dropping them all over the place?  Wouldn't you just love to see a whole field of wild flowers or otherwise?  I think that would be the neatest thing.  Hmmm...

Kickstarter

Who'd a thunk?

Potato salad, huh?  Did you know that a guy raised $70,000 for potato salad?  I thinks it's become newsworthy because who needs that much money to make potato salad?  Really?

I don't have a pic of potato salad but how about a melon?  Enjoy!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Are you tired of all this rain?

Where did the sun go?  Why is it hiding?  I want it to come out.  Oh well!  I'm getting homework done and laundry...  All those fun things!  So domestic!  Things you gotta do!  But I did get to do some fun things this weekend so can't complain.  Have a good week!  Don't work too hard!

Ahoy there, matey!

Captain Cook is Hiring!

Ever been on a riverboat?  Well, I thought a friend and I would check one out just for fun, and after all you never know when you might need a pirate!  As it turns out we picked the absolute worst day because it was gray and cloudy with not a ray of sun anywhere.  And the drizzle gradually turned into a downpour.  However it was still an interesting day and our adventures were just of the wet variety.

Whew!

TGI almost F!

Actually it's hump day!  This has been a busy couple of weeks!  It's ironic that once you leave school for good, you're thinking "no more homework, no more books, etc." however then you're out of school for a while and you begin thinking "I might be getting dumber" so you enroll in school again.  And for the most part you enjoy using your brain and the classes are a challenge but then you think "was I crazy to take two classes in the summertime?"  Ah well!  It's done!  Almost...  just got through midterms.  Remember those?  Whew!  I think I need to have some fun!  All work and no play is just as bad as all play and no work.

Does this picture make you think of the expression, "When pigs fly?"

Snap, Crackle, Pop!

How do you like the sound of that?

Remember the treats your mother used to make?  Mine used to make rice krispie treats and knox blox jello.  It's been ages since I've had either unfortunately.  I consider them to be comfort foods because they remind me of warm, cozy and fun times with my family.

Which is actually not bad when the humidity finally lifts off of a hot summer day.  Can't believe it's mid-July and we're getting weather like this.  I'm not complaining though.  I love it when the weather is right in the 70's!  Not too hot and not to cold!  Enjoy this weather while you can!

Busy Week

Lots going on this week...

I feel like I've been running from one thing to another this week except that I actually can't run due to a previous injury.  So walking perhaps?  I know I definitely can't fly, at least not without an airplane.  Busy homework week too!  Lots of studying to do!

I did catch Captain America:  The Winter Soldier at the theater this past week.  I met up with a friend of mine and watched a movie for a study break.  You figure that with all the brain exertion that you expend you just need some brain candy to watch.  And Captain America is brain candy as well as eye candy...  At least I think so...

Summer Daze

Are you enjoying your summer yet?

It's amazing that it's already July.  Where does the time go?  Have you done everything you need to get done or have you been procrastinating like I have?  Not everything.  Just some things.  I have crafts to do and things I want to do but you can get busy just reacting to life and doing the things you need to do.  Enjoy your week, don't stress out, and take time to smell the flowers!

Baby Cuddle

There's nothing quite like!

Don't you agree?  There's something about cuddling a baby.  They are so sweet and innocent and so little!  I used to volunteer in the NICU at a local hospital.  Before that I was used to normal-sized babies but then I got used to preemies.  So much so that I would see normal-sized babies and exclaim, "My gosh, why is your baby so big?"  It's all a matter of perspective.

Alyosha Ryabinov

Piano Music

Last night I met some friends at a local temple and listened to piano music and a message by Alyosha & Jody Ryabinov.  The music was uplifting and was at times soothing and energetic.  It was a great way to finish up the holiday weekend.

Democracy

Where is our country headed?

Wouldn't we all like to know?  America is not what it used to be unfortunately.  We are suffering economic hardship and think about the national debt.  If any one of us as individuals were in debt by a trillion dollars multiplied by...  Would we be stressed out?  You have to wonder.

I hope you enjoy this July 4th and think about what our country used to stand for.

There are also movies to check out.  And if you feel like reading then reading Democracy.

A gaggle of geese!

Hmmm...

Ever drive around and just notice the wildlife?  Well...  let's see...  I've already seen a fox, chickens, a hawk, and peacocks...  Well now I have run across a gaggle of geese!  Right by a busy roadway.  Life is always interesting to be sure...

Enjoy yourselves if you're on vacation!  This seems to be the week for it!  I think I will just have to float in a pool and enjoy the blue sky!

Jewelry 101

How artsy crafty are you?

So this past weekend I decided to take an intro class at Michael's where I learned the beginnings of making jewelry.  I found the class to be very interesting and creative.  I'm not sure yet, but I am tempted to begin making my own jewelry.  The class was taught by the creator of Jewelry by Nan.  Feel free to peruse her online shop on Etsy.
