Miracles From Heaven

Movie Night

What better way than to spend a cold winter's night in a movie theater with friends?  I was recently invited to attend a prescreening of this movie which is based on a true story.  Miracles From Heaven is the heartfelt story of a young girl who gets cured of an incurable disorder.  Sometimes you just need to see the miracles that happen around you everyday to realize that there is more to life than what happens on this earth.

Watching this move made me think of something that a friend of mine had told me about once upon a time.  She had a friend that had had scoliosis and got hit by a truck.  After being hit by the truck, while riding his bicycle, he was cured of his scoliosis.  Miracles happen!  You just have to realize that they are!

The Final Season

Is Upon Us!

Well I have to admit that I'm pretty bummed that Downton Abbey is in its final season.  I was watching it tonight and thought there's only so many episodes left.  Who knew this show would take the world by storm?  I, and many others, have been watching it and gotten hooked by it.  It is by far one of the most addictive shows that PBS has offered to us.  In fact, it has spurred tea parties all over this area.  Tea parties that let you dress up in hats and gloves, munch on cucumber sandwiches, and watch Downton Abbey all over again.

What will we do once this season is over?  Hmmm...

Being Kind

By Paying It Forward

Today a friend, her kids and I delivered cookies to a runaway shelter; which I have to admit took some time finding.  Remember how I told you that I had a terrible sense of direction?  Well it reared its ugly head again but my friend also had a hard time finding it and the people we asked for directions kept pointing us in the wrong direction so it wasn't just me this time.  Don't give up on me yet!

At any rate we did finally deliver the cookies that we made this past weekend with friends at a local church.  We made dozens of cookies in all different varieties.  We also made hot chocolate and cider.  What better way to spend a Saturday morning?  You know what they say, people who cook together, stick together... Actually I just made that up but when you make cookies you do get somewhat sticky.  Know what I mean?  Yum!

The Spy

Who Loved Me

Ever just need a musical night to unwind and relax?  There's something about going to the symphony that makes you just want to soak in the music.  Tonight I ventured out in the cold to hear music from all the different spy movies.  I spy...  You!

A Closed Door...

So Where's the Open Window?

I was listening to Joyce Meyer on the radio this morning and she was talking about closed doors.  Sometimes closed doors are a sign from God protecting you from something.  Sometimes closed doors help you find your open windows.  Don't keep looking towards your past because you might very well miss something in your future.  Take care!

January Woes

It's 2016!

Who knew this year would come so fast?  I decided not to make any New Year's Resolutions this year however I have set up some mini-goals to work on.  Not the least being getting all of my projects finished from previous years which sounds like a huge undertaking but one that I think will benefit me in the long run.  That way I can start fresh in February.  After all what is February for if not to be fresh?  Cheeky, huh?

BART...

But not the Simpson kind!

"The wheels on the bus go round and round..."  But not so much on a train or subway.  I was recently traveling on BART and I observed all the people around me looking down at their phones.  Everyone was off in their own little world with not a lot of eye contact.  However there were people who went out of their way to be kind to a stranger who was a little lost.  Thanks for helping me out!  :)

"Leaving on a Jet Plane..."

"Don't know when I'll be back again!"

Remember that song?  Doesn't it just make you want to fly away?  Except how many people fly one-way?  Usually people fly round-trip so that they can actually fly home again.

If you want to do some power traveling then make sure you have an awesome travel agent.  I had one and she would schedule my long layovers so I could do some sightseeing between flights.  It's actually kind of cool to fly that way.  I once had a day layover in San Francisco and I went and rode the trolley all over the city.  I met a bunch of interesting people.

Psst...  I obviously prefer sailboats but that's not really feasible on an everyday kind of level.  You know what I mean?  Take care and I won't call you "jelly bean!"  ;)

Winter is Upon Us

Once Again

December fooled us this year by being pretty warm and pretty green.  I was just getting used to it then January showed up and the temperature dropped.  Not quite frigid but pretty close.  This is when you start dreaming of warmer temps.  Remember when you were a kid and you used to play out in the snow?  How many adults do that?  Brrr...  This is going to be a year to remember!  Just wait and see!
