Terms of Endearment

Hmmm...  the lies people tell...  A friend and I were talking about people that have affairs.  Why is it that people having affairs choose to live close to each other?  Is it possibly because they are having a child together but are not married to each other?  That's what happened to a friend of a friend.  He actually had the grace to keep the child even though the child was not his which I find rare.  He did divorce his wife though which he had every right to do.  

God has a way of making the truth come out.  People who have affairs sometimes think nobody knows but God knows and boy does he know.  And really you're not fooling anyone because feelings are very transparent. 

Research studies show that women who have affairs end up becoming drug addicts or alcoholics:  Sometimes they commit suicide.  If you are on the verge of having an affair, think again.  Only a fool would be that stupid...

Generosity

Opposite of Stinginess

Why is it that some people that have so much are so unwilling to part with a little when some people that have nothing keep giving?  Your heart attitude is something that God only sees.  You can fool the people around you but you can never fool God... 

Sometimes the most generous people are the ones that have nothing only they don't let you know that they have nothing.  Because it's not who they are and yet people who are so petty fail to see the truth.  However you will reap what you sow.  I have done a lot of things for free and because of it I get a lot of stuff free in return.  Paying it forward is actually a great way to live your life.

I truly Thank the people that have helped me most, some who had little themselves for that is truly giving!

Are you familiar with the story of the Jonah and the whale?  Remember how God told Jonah to go to Nineveh but he didn't want to?  Why?  Because sometimes in our humanity we want people to get what they deserve.  It's very difficult to give grace at times. 

Well then some unexpected things happen because he ran in the other direction.  When God opens a door he sometimes doesn't give us a lot of choice, does he?  Although he might give us a whale...

For a Good Cause

Recently I got together with my cooking group to make breakfast casseroles for a runaway shelter.  I didn't realize that it takes only five minutes to put together something that tastes so good and is so easy to make.  Yum!!!  I'm going to have to make this sometime for myself.  We just made the basic recipe without meat but you can put whatever you like in it.

Deception at its darkest...  I remember talking to a friend once who told me that she thought this guy she knew was showing people her picture telling everyone he was going out with her.  Unfortunately I believe this happened to me as well.  How desperate does someone have to be to take a picture of some other random someone and make up a fairy tale?  Some people are simply not living in reality.  Are they?

I once read a post online about stalking...  The quote said something about how stalking was when two people were taking a walk while only one person knew about it.  Seriously!  You have to wonder about people who skulk around behind you but never pass you.  If you have to stalk someone to be with them, then you really have no life...  Not to mention clueless...  The person is just not into you...

Let's think about this...  If you had an important decision to make would you make this decision in a hurry?  No...  I think if you really wanted to make the right decision you would give it some time because ultimately you want things to work out.  For instance, the corporations that have made boo boos but were not afraid to tell us because they value human life over their bottom dollar?  Jeni's Ice Cream and Tylenol come to mind.  Don't you respect these companies more because they were so candid with us? 

So in this internet world where everything is seconds away from out fingertips we need to give some people the benefit of the doubt and time to make corrections and heal our boo boos.  Some people take over for others who leave their legacy behind:  The kind of legacy where nothing makes sense anymore.  I know I would have a hard time trying to make right everything that has gone wrong.  It's early days yet...  Give it more time...

Sometimes in life there is no clear choice...  Sometimes we have to make a choice to choose between the lesser of two evils however when in doubt I pray for God's will.  I believe in that instance that you can't go wrong because what will be will be and someone who doesn't know God at all may become someone who really does.

Have you ever known someone that does good things for people?  They help others but while doing it they are rolling their eyes or making faces behind the person's back?  Exactly what does that say about the person they are helping?  What does it say about the person doing the helping? 

Do you know how effective body language is?  When you see a couple walk into a room together, are they really together or are they not? 

Try to be a genuine person today...  Mother Theresa would not have had the effect that she had on people if she was rolling her eyes the entire time she was helping people.  Don't you agree?

Between Friends

Don't you sometimes wonder why people do the things they do?  All people have character flaws but some try to get rid of theirs while others seem to wallow in it.  I've addressed this topic before but unfortunately we all have friends who try to play god in our lives.  They feel like they know what we should be doing or who we should be hanging out with.  Not so!  There are consequences!  For every action there is a reaction!

So while everyone else was out doing "who knows whatever" I was at a relationship conference by Dr. Tammy Smith called Seeing Hope.  A friend of mine invited me and it was an eye-opener seeing how people really feel.  It doesn't seem to matter where you are socially, economically, etc. but all humans feel the same way deep inside.  Many have feelings of not measuring up or deal with hidden struggles in their thought life.

A fine line don't you think?  When everything in our world is mixed up and twisted around...  You can see the value shift changing.  A slow fade into the dangerous.  What's true?  And what do we do about it?  In the past decade I have seen more things being changed around than ever before.  Thank goodness I had the childhood I had before a lot of the darkness started settling in.

A New Day Unfolds...

How do you feel about new beginnings?  A chance to begin again?  Well, spring usually signifies a lot of cleaning:  Out with the old and in with the new.  I have been working on cleaning things up and have gotten rid of a lot of paper.  Still have more to do but I will keep going.  You always feel better afterward.  Don't you?
