Something to think about...
I heard a message this weekend about hypocrisy. What do hypocrisy and yeast have in common?
They are both "totally unseen, a little bit affects a lot, spreads rapidly, puffs things up, and ingests all the sweetness out."
I thought it was an interesting message. When do we become hypocrites? When we want others to think of us more highly or to avoid peer pressure. One thing, I never would have made the connection between yeast and hypocrisy.
What's the difference between an accident and murder? A premeditated intention...
If you think about it, there are things we do because we feel like we have to do them but don't necessarily want to. In the end it's our intention that defines what we do. If you do something nice for a person but deep inside can't stand them, then why do it? When you act on an intention then the intention matters. Does that make sense?
Dr. Neil Clark Warren wrote a book about finding your soulmate. I read this book and one thought stands out: That the reason there are so many divorces is because people were too nice to tell each other they didn't want to really marry them in the first place.
Lots of food for thought!
