Some people like to hang out with other people and be part of a group.  Some people are independent and like hanging out with groups but can still maintain an identity apart from a group.  And some people are anti-social and would rather just hang out by themselves.  Why?  Because everyone is different...  Seriously wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same instead of the entire variety that we are?

If you are at death's door who do you want surrounding you?  As you are lying there waiting for death to finally come, what crosses your mind?  Are your priorities in line?  Will you be thinking if I could just have one more day at work, or if I could just touch my money one more time, or if I could only look at my bank portfolio...  Of course not, you are going to want people by your side:  The ones you care about the most.  Don't be an Ebeneezer Scrooge! You have only a limited time.  Time to change the direction of your life!

There are times in life when you don't know from day to day what the next day will hold...  And sometimes you think you are going in one direction only to realize that you have made a complete u-turn and are headed in a different direction entirely.  Life is like that but as long as you have the right person by your side you know that things will turn out right in the end.

When Jesus walked the earth he had his three best friends, his twelve disciples, and his seventy or so friends.  He hung out with tax collectors and sinners but he made sure his core group held the same values and kept him grounded for what he came here to do.  Do you think that this is a good example of a model of friendship for you to follow?

What does friendship mean to you?  Friendship means having someone's back and being there for them during good times and the bad.  However some friends think that the best way for them to express friendship to each other is to constantly criticize and talk about the people they hang out with negatively.  If you're doing that then why even hang out with them?  Shaking my head...

Gossip is not... expressing an opinion.  Think about it...

If you want services, you go to Angie's List because when you want services, you want the very best.  If you want to hire someone, you get references.  So if you are wanting to make friends, you want healthy friendships.  Also "birds of a feather flock together."

Expressing an opinion and asking for an opinion is not gossip.  However always consider the source.  And keep in mind that opinions are subjective.  Abusers will twist healthy choices for their own agenda.  You must be smart about who you choose to be friends with.  A healthy person will not control you or play god with your life.  A healthy person will let you go.  God gives us all free will so why can't we allow free will to each other?

How are you?  This is a standard greeting in our part of the world.  It is not a pick up line although some people think it is.  I once had a married coworker tell me that whenever a female coworker said "hi" to him he thought they were interested in him.  I was just shaking my head.  This is probably why people no longer want to say "hi!"

Is the root of all evil...  So they say...  How many people love money out there?  Many!  Don't you think?  I feel that money is a necessary evil but I don't love it and I don't care for it.  And yet people pile up money as if it will do them good after they are gone.  What happens if the stock market crashes tomorrow?  What does all the money that you have do for you then?  Nothing is more valuable than time.  And time needs to be spent wisely.
