So what are you going to do with the extra hour tonight?  I think that most people probably use the extra hour to sleep.  Unless you like to keep fiendishly busy and decide to do something productive?  Sleep is productive for some especially if you're not getting much.  So enjoy the extra hour unless you live in that part of the world that is exempt.

Autumn...

Colors are changing and reds are vivid.  Plus all leaves love to fall on cars which makes for a pretty pattern but also leaves you with a messy car which you will have to wash and vacuum.  I am overdue for a good car cleaning.  Enjoy fall!  Why?  Because you know winter in not far behind.  Take care!

Cooking Class

Not for Dummies

So recently I went to a cooking class and learned how to make dim sum.  I love dim sum!  Just like I love wonton soup!  If you have yet to try them then what are you waiting for?

A great place to try them is in the heart of Chinatown (this can be Chicago or San Francisco) where they sell the authentic dim sum.  It's generally crowded and the decor is pretty basic but then you don't go there because of what it looks like...  You go because the food tastes awesome!  There are so many varieties and you just pick and choose the ones you want.  And definitely try the sesame balls.  They are addictive!  

If you have not figured it out by now, I love food!  Which means I need to check out the CIA (aka the Culinary Institute of America).  Gotcha!  :)

A Day of Rest...

Don't you need one?

I know I need one!  There are days when I go from one place to another with hardly any downtime in between.  So then what happens?  I crash!!!  We all need a day of rest.  One day out of every week where we don't work and where we rejuvenate.  Don't deprive yourself!

Librarians...

Are Actually Very Cool!

I don't know how many times I have called a librarian for help and they actually help me.  They help me find information I need or a book I can't find.  They will email me information I need, etc.  If you ever need SOS, then reach out to a librarian because even if they don't know the answer, they will help you find the answer.  So roses to all librarians!

The Hudson Sushi

So recently I had the opportunity to try a new sushi.  I normally don't eat raw fish but this Hudson roll was delicious.  It had mango, apple, avocado, shrimp, and tuna.  Yum!  I guess you could say that I am branching out.  Other great places that have sushi are Diaspora and Kaya.  Don't know why but a lot of Asian places include a diverse array of foods from different Asian cultures.  I know I'm not complaining!

Lately I've been craving potato latkes...  Why?  Not sure, but I really like potatoes.  I was in the neighborhood Whole Foods and noticed them in their hot bar.  I decided to try a few.  Really good!  And theirs are a good size. Some people make them delicious but just too small.  If you have a hearty appetite then you want a hearty portion.  Bon Appetit!

Which Just Happens to be True

I was reading in a book of mine recently and came upon this story.  It's about a man who unknowingly left his baby son on the sunroof of his car and drove onto the highway at 50 mph.  Thankfully a man driving behind him noticed the baby in his car seat flying off the roof of his car and stopped so traffic wouldn't hit the baby.  He was miraculously unharmed.

After reading this story which I checked out on Snopes, it turns out that this is more common then you think.  So if you are a parent, get your sleep so that you can keep your wits about you.

What are we becoming but a food truck nation?  Food trucks are everywhere but if you think about it it makes sense to start out that way if you have a flair for food and want to have your own business.  Plus you have a lot of mobility and can gain a lot of exposure by marketing your business right on your truck.  Makes a lot of sense.

Recently a friend of mine invited me to try out this food truck menu and I have to admit that it was "delish!"  Food trucks have really good food.  The Mixing Bowl Asian Grill is great if you like different kinds of Asian flair and you can really custom order your food.

Brrr...  it's getting cold out!  Just the type of day that you want to stay snuggled inside your blankets.
