Dublin Field of Honor
I remember watching the movie Non-Stop with the Dublin Coffman baseball team quite by chance at some point in my life. It was a suspenseful movie that I got to watch in one of those dream lounger chairs. The ending made me cry because it made me think of 9/11. I usually like the movies that Liam Neeson has been in, especially the Taken series.
Funny how seeing a movie about a hijacked plane will bring back memories of 9/11. I remember being at work that day and seeing a bunch of coworkers watching the TV monitors. I went over to see what everyone was watching and saw a plane crash into the second building. We were all standing there in shock looking at each other.
We were sent home early that day and I ran into maintenance workers that were working on my kitchen. We started talking to each other about what was happening that day and began to cry. I think most people remember what they were doing on this day and the people they spoke to. I remember watching all the footage and thinking about the devastation in New York City. It was horrific especially for those personally involved who did not know if their loved ones were impacted or survived. I found out later that my brother had been in one of the buildings a week before this happened.
A friend and I stopped by this field during lunch one day to take pictures. It was an awesome tribute to the victims of 9/11. I personally hope that we never have to go through something of this nature and of this magnitude again but unfortunately this is the world we live in now.
