Sign Language

Did you ever think?

When you think of all the languages in the world today, many of which have various dialects, you wonder how do you communicate with each other?  Did you ever think that those with no hearing can communicate with people all over the world through sign language?  Think if sign language became the universal language than people could communicate with others no matter what language you spoke unless you are blind:  Although I believe that blind people can see with their hands so...  I'm personally not familiar with sign language and so am not sure if sign language is the same across all borders but it's something to think about.

Relaxation...

Clouds drift by...

Want to do something super relaxing?  Ever float on your back in an outdoor pool and just watch the clouds go by?  I did that recently and boy was it relaxing!  The clouds were really dense that day too.  With the sun peeking out at intervals.  I watched a number of airplanes fly by leaving trails of jet stream all over the sky.  I even saw something that looked like an invisible jet.  Kind of like the one Wonder Woman flew.  Who has time to watch clouds drift by?  Make the time...

Hope you all have a good weekend!  The sun is finally coming out and hopefully we will have a few days without rain.  A friend told me about some teenagers that wrapped themselves around a tree.  Not a good outcome.  It's too bad that so many teens are in car accidents.

Can you believe all this rain lately?

It's the most ironic thing but I was looking at the weather report earlier this week and thought, not a lot of rain predicted so...  it actually has rained everyday and the sun has not been out that much.  It's mostly been gray and rainy.  I have not idea what weather forecast I was looking at but obviously it was not right.  Definitely raindrops falling on my head weather.  Try to stay dry...  I have no idea when I will get some sun...

Moving wildlife!

Ever just drive around and...

see a fox or a hawk?  I kid you not but in the past month I have seen a fox walk nonchalantly across my path and a hawk flying in the air.  Plus do you remember me seeing chickens one day?  Well, I saw two peacocks walking around a yard.  Some very unusual wildlife happening around these here parts!  Plus I think I saw an eagle flying around one day.

Four Answers to Prayer...

Do you pray?  Do you feel that anyone listens?  The odd thing is when I pray, things happen!  Prayers get answered.  This is a book on prayer called Too Busy Not to Pray.  According to the book there are four answers to prayer:  Yes, no, slow down, or grow more.  

I remember praying for my Dad when he got into a car accident and was suffering from numerous medical conditions.  I remember being so discouraged about my Dad's health that I came home one day and went to bed early around 6pm.  I woke up around 2am that morning and prayed to God to please encourage me.  I was so worried about my Dad and had been praying for a kidney for him because he was on kidney dialysis.  The next day my sister called me up and told me that my Dad got a phone call early in the morning letting him know that they had found a kidney for him.  They wheeled him into surgery for a kidney transplant that afternoon.  What an answer to prayer!  That was a definite YES!

What a day!  Here it is, almost mid-year...  Don't you wonder where the day goes?  Where the time goes?  Where the year goes?  It's amazing the kind of weather that we have here in the Midwest.

I was thinking back to years gone by when I was just a kid.  I used to think that summers went on forever.  Didn't you feel that way?  School ended and you had the whole summer ahead of you.  I remember playing kickball, riding my bike, playing with barbies, having tea parties...  I remember playing tag.  I was always the one that no one could catch.  I used to love playing red rover.  My gosh, to be a kid again!

Where you are doing lots of reading for lots of homework.  Am I crazy for taking summer courses?  Or course!  Actually I hope not but I will say that summer courses being condensed mean more homework in a shorter amount of time.  Ahhh!!!  Yah!!!

What make the world go round?

I was watching the news last night and heard a story about a man who was abducting women and stashing them in his truck so that he could beat them and file their teeth into fangs. 

Then I heard another story about a mother who was killed and eaten.

Sometimes you turn on the news and wonder...  Did I really need to know this? 

Life is but a Dream!

Dream VS Reality

Do you know the difference between your dreams and reality?  Do you have dreams that you've had since you were a kid?  And have you attempted to pursue any of your dreams?  

Do you find it odd that you live in the land of liberty and have a right to the pursuit of happiness and yet do you find yourself unhappy?  If you could do anything you love but not get paid, would you do it?  

Think about the reality that time is more valuable than anything.  Time goes by and if you don't make the best of it you lose it.  Time is not something you get back.  Once it's gone, it's gone!  Comprende?  Carpe Diem!  Make the most of today!~

Summer Homework!

Was I crazy?

To sign up for summer classes knowing they were condensed and more crammed in with homework?  Well, guess what I'm doing today!  Lots of homework.  Hopefully I will get it all done!  Life is sometimes like this.  Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines!

Are you a "Hello Kitty" fan?

I was wearing my "Hello Kitty" t-shirt yesterday when a couple walked past me and smilingly told me that they liked "Hello Kitty!"  I also have another "Hello Kitty" t-shirt that a guy once told me he liked.  Have you ever had anyone comment on a t-shirt you were wearing?  There are a lot of original t-shirts out there but I think most people like "Hello Kitty!"

Aren't you always glad when Friday rolls around?

If you're wanting something to do in Westerville on a fourth Friday, then check out their Fourth Friday Celebrations.  Different community vendors share their wares during the hours of 6pm to 9pm.  It's a fun event if the weather is nice however it does tend to get very crowded so if you suffer from a fear of crowds then this event is not for you.

Tree Dandruff

Is it just me?

Or is there a lot of pollen in the air?  I mean literally pollen falling off trees onto our cars!  I have never seen this much pollen before.  It's like you park at night and wake up the next morning only to find your car covered in this mustard yellow-colored fluff.  You wipe the wipers and this stuff gets caught streaking on your window.  What does mother nature have in store for us next?

Tall Ships Festival

Why not visit Lake Erie?  

What to do on a summer's day?  How about a festival?  There are a number of festivals going on in Cleveland and in other locations.  A certain festival that I heard about last year is the Tall Ships Festival.  A number of old-time sailing vessels dock in Cleveland.  There is also a reenactment of the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812.  This information is from last year.  I'm not sure if there will be one this year.  Hopefully there is because I would definitely like to go!

California Zephyr

Are you California dreaming?  

Remember the song sung by The Beach Boys?  I watched them in concert a few years ago.  It was an outdoor concert and a lot of fun!  Well, if you're looking to go to California then why not take a train?  That's what the California Zephyr is:  An Amtrak that takes you to California...  I have not done this yet but my cousin has and this might be an item to put on your bucket list.

Weekends...

Are times to rejuvenate!

I'm spending a good portion of my day watching Downton Abbey with my sister today.  Don't know if you know about this television series but it is highly entertaining.  There is so much underhanded drama and unresolved conflict throughout this series.  Also the writing is very good and pretty much every character has good writing portrayed into his character.  My only negative is that they killed off Matthew Crawley who I thought was a dreamboat.  Ah well!  That's the way it goes!  Evidently a lot of fans mourned the death of Matthew!
